We are looking for suitable candidates with the relevant qualifications and experience to join our Finance team.

Main purpose of Job:

As a Senior Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing payroll operations across multiple countries and regions. Your primary focus will be on ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, maintaining payroll data integrity, and coordinating with internal teams and external vendors. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll regulations for RSA and any experience working with international payrolls would be advantageous. Excellent leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to navigate complex payroll scenarios across different jurisdictions.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the RSA end-to-end payroll operations.
  • Manage and collaborate with international payroll service providers and ensure seamless payroll delivery and reconciliations.
  • Timely review and sign off on all required payroll and tax reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in all regions including salary calculations, deductions, and statutory contributions.
  • Remain current on new legislation and regulatory rulings influencing payroll and reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate and analyze existing payroll policies and procedures; draft, propose and implement changes and/or quality control measures leading to best practice operations.
  • Review and validate payroll inputs, including employee data, timesheets, benefits, and deductions, for accuracy and compliance.
  • Balance and reconcile payroll related payments and deductions to reports produced via the payroll system.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports as required by the Finance and Human Resources Departments
  • Responsible to resolve General Ledger queries from Finance.
  • Update all employees’ Employment Equity and Skills Development information on the payroll system.
  • Manage the interface of Employee benefits with third parties. Ensure reconciliations are done to match the records of the third parties.
  • Maintenance and accurate capturing of Leave records. Advice the Human Resources Department should a problem be identified in terms of excessive sick and unpaid leave taken by an employee.
  • Coordinate year-end payroll processes, including tax reporting, annual statements, and compliance filings for all regions.
  • Implement payroll system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct periodic payroll audits to ensure data accuracy, identify discrepancies, and resolve any payroll-related issues.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in global payroll management.
  • Provide guidance and support to HR, finance, and tax teams regarding payroll processes, compliance, and reporting.

Minimum education experience:

  • Certification or professional qualification in Payroll/ Payroll Management or related field is advantageous.
  • More than 5 years of Proven experience as a Senior Payroll Administrator or similar role, with a focus on managing payroll operations across multiple countries and regions.
  • Knowledge of RSA payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements for various jurisdictions is essential
  • Knowledge of international payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements for various jurisdictions is advantageous
  • Experience working with and managing external vendors.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software or systems for end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex payroll calculations and reconciliations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple payrolls and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of data protection regulations and confidentiality requirements in handling employee information.
  • Proficient in using Power BI, MS Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to adapt to changing payroll requirements across different countries and regions.
  • Experience with PaySpace software is preferred.
