Main purpose of Job:
Typically working within a dynamic SCRUM team but sometimes required to take sole responsibility for all aspects of testing to ensure that all criteria of testing are fulfilled.
The nature of this work generally demands a high level of proficiency in the software development lifecycle.
The test engineer is required to maintain the highest standard of quality for the application under test by rigorous compliance with test practices in an agile environment and industry standards. In addition, this role is required to prevent escape bugs in production by testing every feature before it is released to production.
Primary responsibilities:
- You have knowledge and understanding of current and emerging trends in the tech industry.
- Prepare, maintain and execute test cases
- Apply test case design techniques
- Frontend and backend manual testing
- Test experience on both Web and Mobile platforms
- Involved in peer review testing artifacts
- Investigate, log and manage bugs
- Provide feedback to the SCRUM and testing teams
- Flexible/agile in test efforts across multiple work streams whilst reporting efficiently
- Collaborating with delivery teams remotely (ideally MS Teams)
- Understand and respond to customer needs (internal/external) and exceed expectations where possible
Minimum qualification and experience:
- Experience or knowledge of writing and executing testcases.
- Knowledge of using Azure DevOps/Jira or similar tools.
- Defect management and reporting.
- Agile (SDLC) knowledge
Advantageous:
- Interest in software automation testing.
- You understand programming terminology.
- ISTQB foundation level or equivalent experience in relevant discipline.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to analyze information appropriately and find best solutions taking a balanced view to reach logical conclusions and make relevant decisions
- Bachelors or Diploma in IT/Computer Science-related fields. Areas of study may be Statistics, Software Engineering, Software Development or Management Information Systems.
